WORK HISTORY

BLUEBROOK ASSOCIATES (1998-present): President of software development and consulting business. Primary activities include algorithm development, embedded systems programming, client/server programming, and documentation for patent applications. Invented and implemented new methods for tuning high-energy particle beams for Varian Semiconductor, designed the system architecture for the Rangecast communications system, and developed PIC-based radio accessories for Scanner Master Corp. and other projects.

G-TRACKER TECHNOLOGIES (1996-present): Partner responsible for software development in business that develops enhancements to radio communications receivers. Technology licensed to Uniden, and available in Bearcat and Radio Shack products. Work described in Popular Communications feature article "Conquering EDACS: The Official Behind-The-Scenes Story" (Dec 2000).

AMHERST COLLEGE (1993-1997): Various positions, including summer and work-study programs at the Mead Art Museum and Frost Library, student coordinator of a college residence, news director of college radio station WAMH-FM, and associate editor for 1997 yearbook.

FREELANCE JOURNALIST (1990-1993): From press facilities at NASA KSC and the Cape Canaveral AFS. Broadcast live launch commentary on commercial radio station WHKR-FM for all space shuttle and unmanned rocket launches during this period; published space-related photographs in Astronomy, Popular Mechanics, Ad Astra, Odyssey, Shutterbug, and Via Satellite magazines; and published space-related articles in Astronomy and Odyssey magazines.

WVTI-FM (1986-1988): At age 14-16, analyzed FCC regulations and designed petition to FCC resulting in upgrade of broadcast power from 3 kW to 100 kW, increasing value of Melbourne FL station by three million dollars.



ACTIVITIES

ARTISTIC PHOTOGRAPHY (2007-present): Maintain a 'Photo of the Day' website

GREEN LINE EXTENSION DESIGN WORKING GROUP (2010-2016): Member of a Massachusetts Department of Transportation committee providing community input on the design and construction of the Green Line light rail extension into Somerville and Medford.

TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE (2010-2011): Member of an independent body to verify and observe reform of the Massachusetts Department of Transportation.

MBTA RIDER OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE (2007-2010): Public member of a committee reviewing performance of the Boston public transit system (MBTA), working with MBTA managers and providing recommendations to the General Manager. Former co-chair of the Finance subcommittee.

MARS GRAVITY BIOSATELLITE (2001-2005): Advisor to three-university group designing a biosatellite for scientific research, with a main focus on orbital mechanics for the Guidance, Navigation & Control team.
